Tip #4 – Placing Furniture for Comfortable Living
In last week’s tip we looked at creating the focal point in the room. This week we are looking how we need to place the furniture in the room for comfortable living.
First questions to tackle are how many do we need to seat ordinarily? We don’t need to cater for high days and holidays…
What size Sofa?

Remember a normal 2 or 2.5 seater sofa will only seat three family members or 2 guests
– who may be relatively uncomfortable sitting so close to a stranger unless there is a large space between them.
European Style - Versatile - More My Style
Personally, I’m not a fan of three piece suites as they rob all the space and all the personality in a room.
And as they are usually flush with the floor, they rob any light there is available.
I much prefer the European approach, with versatile moveable pieces to accommodate everyday living. Check out some of my favourite pieces here.
